Job Description

The Tumor Registrar manages and maintains the medical data collection system in accordance with established guidelines from the Louisiana Tumor Registry and the Approvals Programs to assure accurate and timely reporting of all cancer diagnoses.

Minimum Qualifications: Certified Tumor Registrar certification required. Must have experience in the day-to-day operations of a Tumor Registry and have obtained their CTR designation. Must have typing and computer skills as well as an understanding of medical terminology. Knowledge of hospital EMR System and Registry Software and the ability to learn any outside software needed to perform duties. Must maintain education for CTR certification.

Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing

Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching

Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, crawling
