As a 229-bed acute care community hospital located in the heart of Slidell, La., they provide access to the latest treatments, technology, and expert physicians. In 2016, Slidell Memorial Hospital and Ochsner Health System celebrated the formation of a long-term, strategic partnership focused on the continuation of high quality care, cost reduction through coordinating and improving resources, and increased local access to care for the residents of the Slidell community.
The PI Analyst is responsible for and leads the process improvement efforts for SMH by effectively identifying improvement opportunities and initiatives through, project management, and other performance improvement methodologies. The PI Analyst leads cross-functional teams to perform Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Systems Analysis (SA) with the outcome being recommendations and implementation of process and systems changes to more effectively serve SMH's stakeholders.Major Duties:
Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospitals strategic goals.
Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives.
Identifies and analyzes trends in data reported to prioritize and lead performance improvement initiatives
Leads cross-functional teams in FMEA, RCA and SA activities and process interventions
Reports recommendations and findings to senior leaders as appropriate
Ensures improved recommendations are implemented, and that processes are continually evaluated using a process improvement methodology such as PDCA, DMAIC, etc.
Appropriately uses statistical and analytical tools and methods in evaluating process and system performance, data from various sources, and designing/re-designing processes and systems.
Evaluates process change using quantitative and qualitative measures, including financial, service, and quality metrics.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.
Computer skills required for data entry and retrieval of information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Proficient with Windows-style applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent judgment, organization skills, group facilitation skills, decision making, and delegating skills.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently, set project priorities, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem-solving skills to determine unique solutions to situations as appropriate.
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred: Hospital process improvement experience.
Required: Bachelors Degree, 3-5 years acute hospital experience, experience in project management, statistical and analytical tools, including process mapping.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
