St. Tammany Parish Hospital
Receives and prepares specimens according to standard protocol and procedures. Performs a variety of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory procedures according to section requirements and protocols. Performs quality control procedures required for test performance. Calibrates, maintains and monitors laboratory equipment. Works under general supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision making. Maintains confidentiality of patient related information. Complies with organizations C.A.R.E.S. standards.
Minimum Qualifications: National Board Certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). Current or Temporary Louisiana License as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician (CLS-T).
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
