St. Tammany Parish Hospital
The LPN position is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of a group of assigned patients. Activities include, but are not limited to, use of the nursing process in the utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient. The LPN works within the framework of the State LPN Practice Act and complies with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. The LPN will support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital. They may also be floated to other departments in the hospital.
Minimum Qualifications: Current LA LPN Licensure and BLS through the American Heart Association required. IV Therapy Certification required. Additional certification requirements vary by department. Demonstrated communication, time management and organizational skills required. Must have typing and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and be able to perform detail oriented tasks. Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
