Job Summary: Under direct supervision of a licensed, registered pharmacist, assists the pharmacist(s) in storing, preparing, dispensing, delivery, reconciling and charging of all medications. The position is expected to assist the pharmacist(s) in maintaining an adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures. The position is expected to receive inventory, verify stock, and enter data into the computer system to maintain inventory records. The position has mastered all Pharmacy Tech 1 requirements and has additional specialization requirements such as IV, Automation and Inventory Control. The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Pharmacy and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, is expected to perform a variety of complicated tasks and may lead and direct the work of others. The Technician II will only perform activities that are in compliance with the LA Board of Pharmacy.


Minimum Required

Preferred / Desired


3 years of hospital pharmacy work experience or 3 years of infusion center work experience


High School or Equivalent (GED)


Completion of on-the-job training in IV Admixture, Automation, and Inventory Control

Special Skills

Good communication, customer service and computer skills


Louisiana Board of Pharmacy certified pharmacy technician certificate (PTC) in good standing
