Lakeview Regional Medical Center is part of HCA, the largest healthcare corporation in the world with over 170 hospitals throughout the United States and Europe. Lakeview is a full service, JCAHO accredited acute care hospital licensed for 178 beds committed to the care and improvement of human life in the community we serve. The main campus, located north of Lake Pontchartrain offers convenient access for residents of Mandeville, Covington, as well as the rest of St. Tammany and surrounding Parishes, to receive inpatient and outpatient health care services. Lakeview Regional Medical Center provides interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the skills and talents of all clinical disciplines. The nurse/patient ratio allows nurses the opportunity for patient centered care. Extensive orientation for newly hired nurses is provided by trained nurse preceptors with a minimum preceptorship of six weeks. New RN graduates will receive additional orientation.
Lakeview Regional Medical Center is actively involved in Western St. Tammany Parish community and participates in many charitable programs to promote health and wellness. Employees of Lakeview are encouraged to perform volunteer work in the community and have the opportunity to volunteer in such programs as: Food Bank, Norhtshore Heartwalk, March of Dimes, and the Girl Scouts. Lakeview also maintains a partnership with the public schools serving as a clinical site for School to Work programs.
In 2007 and 2008, Lakeview received a Gold Level Louisiana Hospital Quality Award. This award recognizes facilities2 that are actively engaged in improving care in the following areas: Acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care.
