Position Summary: Responsible to effectively manage the day-to-day activities associated with Risk Management. Assists, as needed, in investigating, responding to and resolving customer and physician concerns and grievances. Collects information and maintains documentation on risk management issues. Must have strong critical thinking skills/education and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with Administrative personnel, peers, staff and physicians. Must possess the ability to develop and interpret statistical data, to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and analyze and evaluate issues utilizing critical thinking skills. Must possess the ability to effectively draw conclusions regarding the link between Risk Management endeavors and associated financial impact to the facility. Knowledge of computers and other office equipment are essential. Auxiliary duties include: Coordination of the Clinical Ethics Committee, participation in ongoing regulatory compliance, oversees implementation of Risk Reduction Program, acts as Inter-rater Reliability Tester of COMET data and sits on Safety Committee. A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current La. RN licensure. B. Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferredC. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hospital management experience and/or Risk Management requiredD. Special Qualifications: The knowledge and skills necessary to conduct the appropriate initial evaluation and investigation regarding the safety and risk management of patients, personnel and the physical environment are essential. A functional working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point are essential.
