Under general supervision, the physical therapist will assess and treat individuals with a variety of mobility, motor control and musculoskeletal disorders. Major Duties: Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospitals strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Document interactions with the patient, caregiver and/or other health care workers accurately and timely. Maintain contact with the physical therapist assistant, updating him/her on the patient's progress or changes in treatment plan. Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team to aid in the improvement of the patient's functional abilities. Creates daily patient schedules. Required to communicate clearly and effectively with physical therapy assistants and rehab techs in order to carry out treatment plans with patients in a variety of settings. Required to provide physical therapy services in a manner consistent with excellent customer service at all times. Required to communicate clearly and effectively with other disciplines, physicians, and support personnel, for the benefit of the patient and the department. Works in an effective and efficient manner so as to help accomplish financial goals of the department. Acts as a responsible steward of all hospital and department equipment and assets. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.
Education/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Preferred: Knowledge of appropriate treatment strategies for patients in acute, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation settings. One year experience in a hospital setting as a physical therapist working primarily with an adult population Required: Demonstrated ability to communicate information accurately in verbal and written form. Demonstrated ability to follow existing treatment plans and communicate clearly and effectively with physical therapist and other personnel. A Physical Therapy Degree or equivalent as determined by the licensure board. Completed rotation in at least one setting that we currently offer(inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, acute). Licensure/Certification: Required: Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapist; CPR for healthcare workers.
