The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana
Position Summary: Acts as patient advocate. Uses the nursing process in delivering individualized patient care in accordance with the established policies and procedures of The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff. Shares knowledge with peers and assists in orientation of new employees. Flexible in meeting the needs of the unit, i.e. changes in work schedule. Communicates effectively with physicians and other departments personnel. Keeps manager, Nursing Supervisor informed. Participates in Cardiovascular Continuous Quality Improvement.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in the State of Louisiana as a Registered Nurse; Current Health Care Provider CPR. ACLS within one year for new graduates and 6 months for othersB. Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursingC. Experience: Successful completion of an orientation program. 1 year clinical experience preferred Special Qualifications: Good communication skills; computer skills; ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Telemetry- Successful completion of EKG class within first 6 months of hire.
