Earl K. Long Medical Center is a state-run, acute care medical facility that has served East Baton Rouge Parish and the seven surrounding parishes within its designated coverage area, since 1968. Those parishes are Ascension, West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston and Pointe Coupee.
EKLMC offters graduate medical education to Physicians training in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Opthalmology, Oral Surgery, Orthepedics, Pediatrics and Surgery. Nursing and other Allied Health students receive a portion of their clinical experience at the Medical Center.
The Operation of EKLMC is overseen by the Health Care Services Division.
