In 1968, Woman's Hospital opened its doors, becoming one of the first women's specialty hospitals in the nation. Today, our team of dedicated staff and physicians delivers more than 8,000 babies each year, making Woman's the 16th largest delivery service in the country and the largest in Louisiana. In addition, the hospital performs more than 7,000 surgeries, 45,000 mammograms, and 80,000 Pap tests on an annual basis. Woman's Hospital is a not-for-profit organization. All funds earned over expenses are reinvested into the hospital, allowing us to build state-of-the-art facilities and recruit highly qualified staff to better service women's and infant's health care needs. We remain committed to serving the people in the surrounding community, and support many worthwhile health care initiatives aimed at helping to achieve our mission: to improve the health of women and infants.

There is nothing ordinary about Woman's Hospital. Since our doors opened, our focus has been the superior care of women and infants. With over 1,900 employees, Woman's is the only independent, not-for-profit woman's specialty hospital in the United States. Our 225-bed, private organization is recognized throughout the country for its innovative programs for women and their families. Our services include: Level III Regional Obstetrics unit, Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center, Level III Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, prenatal and women's health education, gynecologic and general surgery, neonatal surgery, gynecologic oncology, outpatient surgery, audiology, pediatric subspecialty clinics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy/EKG, radiology and laboratory, breast services, osteoporosis services, cosmetic surgery, urinary incontinence services, genetics counseling, Woman's Home Care and Woman's Fitness Club.
Each of our services is designed to accommodate the specific needs of women and infants. The majority of services provided by Woman's Hospital are available on the Main Campus. Additional services, including our Fitness Club, The Spa and Therapy Services, are located in the Woman's Center for Wellness at Jefferson and Bluebonnet.
